Rosetta Stone Spanish Class

We are very excited to introduce the Rosetta Stone Spanish Class to our 10th -12th grade students. This is an on-line, interactive course that allows our students to excel in a foreign language. By offering the class, students can work from any computer, including their home. It is truly a step towards 21st Century Learning for all of NLCA. AdiĆ³s!

Critical Thinking

The faculty of NLCA participated in a series of workshops prior to school being in session. The workshops focused on Building Critical Thinking Skills in our students. It was very exciting for our teachers and seems to be a wave of excitement for our students as well. You may recognize some changes in your child’s homework routine, their test taking strategies, and their problem solving skills. This is all part of the new additions to our curriculum. We are striving to make 21st Century Learners out of all our students. We are combining technology and higher level thinking skills with the already outstanding curriculum of NLCA!

Critical Thinking Activity

Ancient Egyptian pyramids were built as royal tombs. Within these massive stone structures were rooms, halls, and connecting passageways. Look at the figure below. Can you draw four paths that connect the matching symbols? The paths may not cross, they may not enter a non-matching pyramid, nor may they go outside the larger pyramid boundary.

Creative Writing

High School Students of NLCA will be enjoying a Creative Writing Class this year, facilitated by Ms. Grace Wine. The students will work in the computer lab and develop their writing skills which will encourage higher level thinking and prepare them for their future.

Box tops

Just a reminder, NLCA is still collecting box tops. Last year we earned over $1,200.00 for our school. Lets keep it up!

Become Part of Those Learning a Second Language!

New Life Christian Academy students are currently using Rosetta Stone’s Foreign Language Curriculum for Spanish and we are excited to offer any foreign language through this program to anyone interested. The only thing your need is internet access. The cost of the program is $109 and the course you choose is available for one year. If you would like to learn to fluently speak a foreign language…this is your chance. Please contact the NLCA office for more information.
