Summersvile Police Department Partners With NLCA

Monday morning, the Summersville City Police, along with Mayor Shaffer, gathered our students in the gymnasium to cut a ribbon welcoming city police officers to NLCA.  Mayor Shaffer has put a county wide policy in effect that provides all schools the opportunity to allow police officers to use an area as a sort of office space.  As the Mayor explained, "All children need to feel safe." Police Chief, Jay Nowak addressed the students by saying, "Police officers are your friends."  Each student was presented with a water bottle from the Mayor and the Policemen that visited.  This is an exciting opportunity for our school.
