Thank you for supporting New Life Christian Academy Basketball! We are very pleased that several of our students attend the home games; however, if you are not attending the game with your child, please make sure that someone is responsible for them. Many of the students go outside, and do not stay in the gymnasium. We are concerned for their safety and want to make sure that you are aware there is not a teacher responsible for students during athletic events.

 

Finally, please make sure that you are picking up your child in a timely manner. When the game is over, the coaches leave. The volunteers who take up money and work the concession stand will not leave your child unattended, so please respect them and pick your children up immediately upon the game's conclusion.

• Make plans to attend the Christmas Program on December 6th, at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM.  It is a school wide performance that portrays the Life of Christ. 
• Be sure to buy your NLCA Christmas Ornament from the main office. They are $10 each.

In the Memo Section of your check, you must include the designations for your payment.  For example, if you are paying a lunch bill & tuition, simply list them (Lunch $13.20, Tuition $285).  This will help keep our records in order and assure that your payments are being posted in the proper place.  Thank you for your help.  Should you have any questions, please call the office.

Our theme is "Thanksgiving".  Be creative and don't froget to bring a book to read!

October 19th at 9:00 AM

Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the class presentations as well as lunch!  We look forward to     seeing you.  School will be dismissed immediately after lunch.  There wil be no public bus or Lions' Den on Grandparent's Day.  

NLCA Does Not Participate in "Early Outs"

NLCA does not observe the regularly scheduled "Early Outs" of the public schools of Nicholas County. The only families "Early Out" days effect are the ones whose children ride the Public School Bus. Those students will be leaving early. However, NLCA will not dismiss until our regular time of 2:50 PM.

There are three early out days scheduled for the remainder of this year:
September 26
October 3
January 30

Once again, NLCA does not participate in the Early Out Schedule, only public bus riders will be dismissed early.

Volleyball Season is about to begin. Plan on coming out to support Coach Gary Johnson and the team. A complete schedule can be found on the website calendar. The first home game is September 11th at 6:00 PM!

The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Thursday, August 16.b> Kindergarten will begin on Monday, August 20th and Pre-K will report on Tuesday, August 21st. Be sure to go to your child's classroom blog for important information and class supply lists.

Open House is Monday, August 13th from 4-7 PM

Monday, August 13 from 4:00-7:00 PM will be the annual Open House for NLCA. Please plan on stopping by with your familiy! No appointment is necessary. We look forward to seeing you!

The Last Day of School is Tuesday, May 22nd!

Students will be able to pick up their report cards, and they will be dismissed following the Awards Ceremony Tuesday Morning (beginning at 8:15 AM). Thank you for being part of the NLCA Family for the 2011-2012 School Year. We hope to see you all back next year!

THE END OF SCHOOL BASH IS THURSDAY, MAY 17th

Plans are underway for the End of School Bash. Everyone is welcome to attend this day of fun. Please let your child's classroom teacher know if you will be attending and what you will bring or help with. We need to keep count in order to prepare lunch. Each classroom teacher has a sign up sheet.

THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER IS ALSO ON THURSDAY AT NOON ON THE COURT HOUSE LAWN. IN THE EVENT OF RAIN, PRAYER WILL BE HELD IN THE GYM OF NLCA. EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND.

NEW SHOT REQUIREMENTS

Additional school shots will be requried for the 2012-2013 school year. Students entering the 7th and 12th grade will have shot requirements that must be met before the start of the school year. Children that are current with their adolescent shots may have already met the new requirements, however many have not. If you have any questions, please refer to the packet we recently sent home with students. Thank you for your cooperation.

Register now for the 2012-2013 School Year! The tuition and registration fees for the upcoming year will remain the same. The registration fee is required at the time of enrollment. If this fee is paid in full by April 30th, you will receive a 20% discount. This discount does not apply to Pre K and Kindergarten.
Registration Fees are as Follows:
Pre K and Kindergarten $75
Grades 1-6 $225
Grades 7-12 $250

The registration fee includes text books, testing fees, computer lab fees and registration.

Easter Break Begins on Good Friday!

Enjoy Easter Break from April 6-15! Our normal schedule will resume on Monday, April 16th. God Bless You!

END OF SCHOOL BASH

What: End of School Celebration
Where: Parking Lot of NLCA (if rain, we will move to the gym)

**We will serve lunch at noon in the cafeteria/gym. After lunch, your child is free to go home with you.

The Mission Project for NLCA Students this year is the Crisis Care Kit

A note was sent home this week about the Crisis Care Kit mission project. If you are able to help with this project, please refer to the list we sent home and bring the items in by March 30th. Together, we make a difference!

The Taste of Summersville will be held May 3rd

The annual Taste of Summersville is quickly approaching. If you are able to help with this fundraising event, please let your child's teacher know as soon as possible. We will be having a planning meeting soon, so watch for a note in your child's backpack.

"Back" Yearbook to Be Sold

The 2009-2010 Yearbook was never published. We have completed it and it is in the process of being printed. If you would like to order a 2009-2010 yearbook, please do so in the main office. The cost is $30. Thank you!

SECONDARY SPIRITUAL GROWTH RETREAT

The annual Soul Survivor Retreat will be March 29-31. Secondary students will leave school at 12:30 on Thursday the 29th and return at 11:00 AM on the 31st. Please be in prayer for this life changing event! If you are attending the event, please return the $20 fee and your Permission Slip by Friday, March 16.

Things to Bring To The Retreat:
Bible, Pens & Paper, Change of Clothes, Extra Shoes, Bedding, Towels and Bathroom Essentials.
Students will also need to bring the following, according to the beginning letter of their last name:
A - F 12 pack of Soda, and a Bag of Chips
G - M Juice and Cookies or Granola Bars
N - Z Pack of Water and Breakfast Items (cereal bars, poptarts, etc...)

Krispy Kreme Donut Sale

Don't forget to sell those donuts! This is a simple fundraiser for our Yearbook Staff. All sales sheets and collected money are due back by Wednesday, February 15. A lot can be accomplished when we all do a little. Thanks for your help!

Homecoming Week was a Huge Success!! Thank you to everyone that participated. Your participation, generosity, and support are greatly appreciated. It was so wonderful to see so many Alumni, as well as current students at the homecoming games and banquet. We truly are family at New Life Christian Academy. May God Bless You!

Don't forget the Homecoming Banquet on Thursday, 6:00 PM. We will be collecting a donation at the door for admittance, that will benefit Soul Survivor (the secondary spiritual retreat).

Tomorrow for Spirit Week dress like twins or triplets with some of your friends!! It is also DEAR Day, so bring a book to read and enjoy!!!

HOMECOMING 2012

This year we have added something new to our Homecoming Week of Events. We will be having a Homecoming Banquet. We will gather in the New Gym at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening (February 2nd) for an introduction of the NLCA Basketball Teams and Cheerleaders. We will enjoy a performance by our Drama and Ribbon Team, and then journey to the Old Gym for a banquet of Spaghetti, Salad, Rolls and Dessert. The price of admission for dinner is an At Door Donation. All proceeds will benefit the Secondary Spiritual Retreat, Soul Survivor. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the Homecoming Banquet!

The annual Pep Rally will be held on Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 PM. During the pep rally classes will do their class cheer and we will show our support for the NLCA Basketball Teams as they prepare to taken on the Mountain View Patriots.

Be sure to help your child decorate their crown and poster for our celebration and if you plan to participate in the Loot Exchange, you need to bring in your loot by Thursday the 26th.
