Christmas Play is December 8

The annual Christmas Play is Thursday, December 8. Student need to report to school at the regular time for for the 10:00 AM performance and they may be signed out afterwards. Everyone needs to return by 6:30 and report to the designated areas for the 7:00 PM performance. Thank you for you cooperation!  We look forward to an awesome day of spreading the mighty Word of God and celebrating the birth of Jesus!

New Life Christian Academy is teaming up with PRO WV (People Reaching Out) in collaboration with the Greater Nicholas County Long Term Recovery Group and collecting toys for those children affected by the June floods.

We are accepting donations of new and gently used toys through December 12.  We would love to fill the box provided with toys for these children.  If you are able to help, please bring your donation to the main building and place your items in the giant box in the hallway.

Christmas Play will be held on

All children need to arrive at school at the regularly scheduled time for the morning show and be back to their classrooms by 6:30 for the the evening show. We will have their costumes in their classroom.  Thank you!

Please be Advised that Nicholas County Schools will dismiss early on Friday, October 21.  NLCA will have a full day of school.  If your child rides the public bus, you will need to make arrangements to pick them up that day, or they will be dismissed to ride the public bus for the Nicholas County Early Out.

New Life Christian Academy WILL NOT be in session on Monday, October 24 due to  Educational Enhancement and Development.  Nicholas County Schools will be in session. Please mark your calendar.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Scholastic Book Orders

Many of your children will bring home Scholastic Book Order Forms.  We want to help provide books at discounted rates for your children, but we do not endorse any of the titles available.  Please use your own discretion when choosing books to order.   Each teacher has their own procedure for ordering, and you will place orders with your child's homeroom teacher.

See You at the Pole is Wednesday, September 28

                                   

We will meet at the flagpole on Wednesday morning at 8:00 as we have a student led prayer.  See You at the Pole will take the place of chapel this week.  

                                    

                                

October 11, 2016 is a very special day for our students!  We will be having a School- Wide DROP EVERYTHING AND READ Day!  DEAR day will follow our school literature fair, celebrating the hard work the students have put into their projects.  On this day, students are encouraged to dress comfortably, bring in a pillow, a blanket or anything else that would make them cozy while curled up to read a book!  They may even want to bring a few snacks, but don’t forget a few GOOD BOOKS! 

Teachers have planned to give time for individual reading, reading aloud, computer based reading and many other fun ways to enjoy a good book.  Teachers also have books available if your child does not have any books of their own. 

If you would like to volunteer to read aloud on October 11, please let your child’s teacher know as soon as possible.  We are looking forward to a fun day of reading!

New Life Christian Academy had a wonderful visit from the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department, JanCare Ambulance, and St. Trooper Milam.  We salute you!

Friday, September 16, the elementary students will be celebrating First Responders Appreciation Day. The local police, EMS, and fire department will visit our campus and talk to the students about the importance of their jobs and duties.  We will have the hallways decorated and would like for the students to wear Red, White and Blue in celebration of the service these men and women provide to our local area, as well as our country!

ATTENTION: VOLLEYBALL GAME CANCELLED FOR TONIGHT

The home volleyball game scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, September 13) has been cancelled.
