Dear NLCA Families,

We are in complete cooperation with the Nicholas County Board of Education and the State of West Virginia in combatting the situation we are facing.  Governor Justice announced today that schools will be closed “for as long as we have to close them.” 

Nicholas County Schools will close today at 4:00 PM.  The following statement was released: “All school sponsored events after 4pm today are cancelled. This includes participating in the St Patrick's Day parade and student recognition at the March 16th Board of Education Meeting.  Recognition will be rescheduled.” 

At NLCA, we have been preparing for this.  Today, we have sent home packets for the students to complete.  We have given them work that would compensate for two weeks off from school.   Please be patient.  We are working diligently to help our students remain successful in their academics. 

Remember, all staff email addresses can be found on our website.  We are available to answer questions and help you when you need it.  We will remain in contact with you through phone calls and our web page during this interruption.
